New York Might Introduce Restaurant Carb Warnings

As knowledge about the negative health impacts of excess sugar has on our health becomes more mainstream, New York is about to debate on introducing sugar and carbohydrate warnings to foods served at restaurants. The more information you have about your restaurant food choices the better. But how do you navigate the menu successfully when you are following a low carbohydrate lifestyle?

We at Natural Ketosis have developed some tips on eating out to ensure that you have a great time out whilst opting for more natural and less sugary food items.

1. When you first start going out for dinner, a good idea would be to try and obtain the menu of the restaurant you are going to before hand. This will help you to not feel under pressure when ordering and also help to reduce any urges to choose something higher in carbohydrate content

2.    On menus, we would like you to watch out for the following words as they can indicate that this particular food will be carrying a higher carbohydrate amount:

Breaded

Deep fried

Batter fried

Pastry

Low-fat

Southern style

Sweet sauce

Sticky sauce

Tempura

Patas bravas

Reduced/ low calorie

As part of our support, we will also look at restaurant menus and advise on what options from the menu would be more suitable on your weight loss journey to help you reach your goal.

Here at Natural Ketosis we have worked hard to understand the relationship between what we eat and how this impacts on weight loss. We are happy to help. So if you have any further questions or would like to know how switching your diet can help you achieve your goals, then please do get in touch with us and we’ll be more than happy to help.
