New Study: Low Carb Better for Long Term Weight Loss

A new study published this week in the Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology, found that low carbohydrate diets are much better approaches for weight loss than low fat diets.
This new study directly compared 53 previous trials with data from 68,000 participants that had either looked at low fat weight loss approaches and/or low carbohydrate approaches. The aim of this study was to find out which approach is best for long term weight loss success.
After all the number crunching, it was found that low carbohydrate approaches were significantly better at producing long term results. The researchers also commented that their findings do not support low fat approaches for “meaningful weight control.”
